WP FixBoard is a free, hobby-run community board where people post WordPress issues and get help from the community and AI-assisted replies. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you:

AI-Assisted Support

To help issues get answers faster, WP FixBoard uses automated AI to draft replies to new issues. Anything uncertain is flagged for human review.

What Is Sent

The text of an issue (and relevant reply context) is sent to an external AI provider to generate a suggested response.

Your Control

Because AI replies draw on public issue text, avoid posting secrets — what you share publicly may be processed to generate help.

AI suggestions are clearly marked and are not a substitute for human review. Always test fixes on a backup before trusting them.

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymised statistics and session insights (such as heatmaps and recordings) on how visitors use the site, so we can improve it.

Both tools may set cookies on your device and process limited usage data (including an anonymised IP address) in accordance with their own privacy policies. Microsoft Clarity may use session recordings and heatmaps; you can opt out via your browser settings or by disabling analytics cookies.

You can manage or clear cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in or posting.

WP FixBoard is built on WordPress and uses a few third-party services. Each has its own privacy practices:

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are analytics services that help us understand how the board is used. They may collect anonymised usage data (such as pages viewed, browser type, device information, and an anonymised IP address). Microsoft Clarity may also generate heatmaps and anonymous session recordings to help us improve usability. We do not use these services to identify individuals or sell data.

We only share the minimum data these services need to function. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.

Data Retention

We keep data only as long as needed to run the board and meet legal duties:

Account & Profile
Kept while your account is active; deleted on request.
Issues & Replies
Kept long-term as a public knowledge base for others.
Contact Submissions
Kept up to 12 months for reference, then deleted.
Security & Logs
Up to 12 months for abuse and fraud protection.

You can ask us to delete your account data sooner. Note that your public posts may be kept (anonymised if needed) so they keep helping the community.

Children's Privacy

WP FixBoard is not intended for children under 16 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from younger children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

Policy Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do:

  • The new version is posted on this page.
  • The “Effective” date at the top will change.
  • Significant changes will be announced on the site.
  • Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
